Rooted is a free service provided to alumni from any of the Promises family of treatment centers to attend for life and is offered weekly at a variety of cities nationwide and online through our virtual meetings on the Zoom platform.
As society is aligning with the social adjustments needed for purposeful distancing, we have adjusted our sails so that we can navigate these winds and lead our alumni and others in recovery through these storms while continuing to provide meaningful avenues of connection.
Until further notice, We are welcoming all people in all forms of recovery (including those who did not attend treatment with us) to join us on any of our recently-expanded range of virtual recovery meetings. No matter what you are recovering from or what brought you here, WE ARE SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU JOIN US!
Below you will find our live calendar listing each of our virtual recovery meetings that are accessible to anyone worldwide all week, every week!

Recovering from a substance abuse disorder takes time. Your body and brain both need time to heal. Entering a substance use disorder treatment program is probably the best way to heal. But when you leave treatment, you may still feel out of sorts. Because one of the worst aspects of addiction is feeling alone, finding a supportive community to belong to is vital for a lasting recovery. One way individuals can both benefit from and contribute to a supportive community is by joining an alumni program. The Right Step Dallas offers an alumni program available upon completion of treatment for all patients. This program provides additional support after treatment ends. Here individuals can find a mentor or perhaps mentor someone themselves. No matter what, individuals are surrounded by others understanding the challenges of living a sober life.
There are several benefits to being part of an alumni program at Right Step Dallas. Clients will have the opportunity to meet people who have already walked down the road they have. The benefit of first-hand advice is immensely valuable. When you are involved with others going through similar things, it helps create positive bonds.
When clients find mentors who have demonstrated consistency and maturity in their pursuit of staying sober, they feel inspired and hopeful. These are the people clients can depend on to be there when needed. Through group activities and therapy, clients learn effective strategies for dealing with temptations, avoiding risky situations, coping with triggers, and combating cravings.
As clients become stronger emotionally and physically more healthy, they may even become mentors themselves. The simple fact is no one can overcome addiction alone. Once through detox and treatment, recovery becomes a daily habit. Sobriety is something you have to be conscious of every day. Thus, having others around you who you can trust matters. An alumni program provides this kind of community.
At Right Step Dallas, our alumni program strives to help you nurture relationships with peers in recovery. Having a network of friends that are experiencing similar challenges is an important part of recovery and provides a regular source of accountability and support. You’ll begin our alumni program by developing relationships while still in treatment through weekly groups. These groups provide opportunities for support, hope, and insight between those sharing similar struggles.
Some highlights of our alumni program include:
Our alumni program is just one of the ways we help you continue to build a strong foundation in recovery once you’ve left treatment. In addition to our alumni program, we also offer extensive aftercare planning and re-intervention services if needed.
Entering an alumni program vastly reduces the likelihood of relapse. It provides a community of individuals all looking to live their best life in sobriety. Also, if relapse does occur, they are there to support each other and get back on the right track. However, before a patient can join an alumni program, they must complete their substance use disorder treatment program.
Once patients near the end of their inpatient or outpatient treatment programs, they can meet with therapists about joining an alumni program. Our staff will gladly provide patients with the information they need. For example, we can help patients find a mentor, get connected to a group, and schedule what events they may be interested in participating in. So reach out to us today at 1.844.768.1161. To make recovery lasting, you need friends who know what you’ve gone through because they have themselves. Let us connect you.
